Titch by Pat Hutchins (1971)

Indulge me here everybody, we’re going back in time with a classic. I loved Titch as I child. I too had an older brother and an older sister and I spent my life trying to keep up with them.

Titch is little, his older sister Mary is a bit bigger and his brother Pete is a lot bigger. Everything Titch has is the smallest, until one day, when Pete has a spade, Mary has a pot and Titch has, well Titch has a seed. As a third child I always found the end of this story particularly satisfying!

With bold illustrations, and simple sentences, this is a great story to read to littlies.

Check out Titch at Auckland Libraries.

Or buy Titch from Fishpond.
