Tiptoe Joe by Ginger Foglesong Gibson; illustrated by Laura Rankin (2013)

Quiet books can be your best friend when you’re a storyteller. Nothing tames an audience like a lot of whispering and exaggerated finger-to-lips-action, all as part of the story of course.

Joe the red-sneakered Bear has something he wants to show all his friends. He invites everyone to follow him, “Rabbit, Rabbit, come with me. I know something you should see.” Together the growing group follows Joe home, where his very cute secret is fast asleep.

Tiptoe Joe features lots of lovely rhyme, some great onomatopoeic words and sweet illustrations. A preschool winner.
