This book just ate my dog! Richard Byrne (2014)

Brilliant, just brilliant. A weird phenomenon plagues Bella one day when she’s taking her dog for a walk. Suddenly, he gets swallowed by the gutter of the book! It’s not just her dog that disappears, everything that attempts to rescue him vanishes as well.

It’s all quite perplexing and finally Bella decides she needs to sort it out herself, disappearing after the rest of the cast. A clever book ramps it to the next level when we’re requested in a note from Bella to turn the book on its side and start shaking.

I’m loving all the picture books that feature a page or two turned on the side, the fun influence of all our digital devices perhaps?

Everything about this picture book is brilliant. Another highly recommended from me!
