Let’s paint by Gabriel Alborozo (2013)

In my working life I’ve come across several people who consider themselves uncreative. This makes me very sad, because everybody has the ability to let loose and create something. Sometimes their creativity is just a little harder to spot, it might burst forth in the garden, in the kitchen, or maybe even in their driving!

Less of a traditional story and more of an encouragement to be creative, Let’s paint is a great starting point for getting kids to explore painting. We meet artists who like to experiment and play, contrasted with those who plan every brushstroke. There are big swirls of paint, landscapes, and neat tidy creations.

And there is some great advice, “If your picture doesn’t look right at first, then that’s okay. It might make you cross…Or you might feel a bit scared or worried. You won’t be the only one who feels like this!”

A great introduction to painting with a class group, as you would expect, Let’s paint is visually beautiful.
