Father Christmas needs a wee by Nicholas Allan (2009)

How is it November already? In just over seven weeks Christmas will be bursting upon us in all its festive glory!

The final Christmas storytime in a public library is always loads of fun, and today I’m sharing with you one of my favourite Christmas-themed read-alouds.IMG_1045

Father Christmas has run out of the Christmas spirit, he just really wants to get home so he can go to the toilet. After consuming an obscene amount of liquid at each house he has visited, he can’t wait much longer.

Featuring plenty of counting, Christmas presents, and rollicking rhyme, you’ll have your audience in stitches.

Check out Father Christmas needs a wee at Auckland Libraries.

Or buy Father Christmas needs a wee from Fishpond.

And for a couple of other Christmas favourites, try:

Dear Santa by Rod Campbell, the author of well-loved Dear Zoo. From the library or from Fishpond.

“I’m not Santa!” by Jonathan Allen, who wrote one of my favourite books ever, “I’m not cute”. From the library or from Fishpond.
