The blue balloon by Mick Inkpen (1989)

magic-booksI greeted this book like an old friend when it appeared on the library hold-shelf for me. It’s been a while, but I still love all its foldy-out pages.

Kipper finds a blue balloon in the garden, but this is no ordinary balloon. It has strange and wonderful powers, with the ability to stretch and grow, change colour and shape.

Featuring wonderful language like, indestructible and as-expected joyful Mick Inkpen illustrations, this is a guaranteed hit for an audience of preschoolers.IMG_1141
