Writer’s block. I’m not kidding, I’ve sat staring at the screen for ages with nothing to say. Post-halfway blues perhaps? Forgive me a sub-standard review today, I’m going to fall back on a favourite rescue technique and break out the bullet points.
I liked the:
- Giant creeping alligator
- Delightfully frightened children who take matters into their own hands
- Bundles of snip snapping and slithering
- Magic language, “The alligator’s eyes were flashing. The alligator’s teeth were gnashing as tables and chairs and piano went crashing.”
