Twinkle twinkle little star by Jane Cabrera (2012)

twinkleI’m feeling fairly twinkly today myself because I have officially made it to 100 reviews. Woohoo! It has been a blast so far, looks like this one-year-daily-review goal is not completely ludicrous after all. Thank you so much for joining me on this blogging journey. If we haven’t met officially, feel free to leave a comment and introduce yourself.

I’m going to let you in on a storytellers’ secret today. If you ever find yourself in front of an audience of small people and you need a breather, Twinkle twinkle little star is your best friend. Every audience I’ve ever had has been willing to jump on in and join in singing this insanely popular song.

This picture book is so brilliant, because it takes the rhyme everyone knows and loves and adds additional verses, paired with delightful illustrations of adult animals with their babies.IMG_1111

“Flicker, flicker, little star, how I wonder what you are.

Smiling down on desert dry… lighting up the cold night sky.”

You could sing or read this book to preschoolers and be guaranteed a captive audience.
